Review of Alexa Chung's ''It''

Fashionista Alexa Chung released her first book, It, last year. I had been after this book for a while and was happy to get my hands on it for Christmas from my lovely boyfriend. There has been some mixed opinions emerging about It but I personally found this book an enjoyable, easy read.

I really adore the covering, it's a hardback which is covered in a pink/lilac fabric. It's so pretty. The contents of It has been somewhat controversial. Alexa's literary skills, and lack of actual literature, have been scrutinised, whereas being a student it's nice to kick back and read something easy during my spare time. I'm sure fellow Alexa fans/students will agree with me on that one.

Alexa discusses her childhood, fashion role models, beauty tips and how scared she was when she realised her seat at a fashion show was next to the editor of US Vogue. For the first time, Alexa opens up about her heartbreak from her split with Alex Turner, which was interesting to read. Particularly as she even admitted to Googling ''how long does heartbreak last?''

I loved this book and would definitely read again or maybe refer back to it for advice on how to take the perfect ''selfie.'' Here are some of the pretty illustrations included.

Has anyone else read It? What are your thoughts?

First Blog Post

I finally decided to begin a blog after months of changing my mind and trying to find the time, so here goes. I'm a first year student at UCLan studying a combined degree of English Language and Journalism. Considering I aspire to become a journalist, I thought having a pop at creating a blog would be a useful, yet fun way to practise my writing. I'll use this blog to write about my lifestyle; places I go and things I do. I may also do some reviews of fashion, music, books, beauty products or discuss topical events.
As I am currently an amateur blogger, this will be for personal enjoyment and I hope you enjoy my posts to come.
